About the SESRP:
The California Solar Energy System Restitution Program (SESRP) provides up to $40,000 in restitution to homeowners who suffered an unpaid financial loss after contracting for the installation of a solar energy system. The program was created in 2021.
The program is designed to help homeowners who:
- Paid for solar but it was never installed
- Experienced poor workmanship or fraud
- Lost money because of a contractor’s actions
- Experienced incomplete work, misrepresentation, or work not completed for the agreed-upon price
The program is overseen by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Claim forms are available in English and Spanish on the CSLB website.
